Who exchanges homes?

Many of our members are professionals people, doctors, engineers, teachers, business executives, and retired people etc. In general, they are in an upper income bracket, well travelled and well educated, thus a high standard of homes is offered
Who pays the bills?

Expenses involved are agreed between the parties exchanging, but usually only involves payment for toll calls. Make sure that you write it clearly on your Home Exchange agreement form and exchange signed copies with your exchange partner
How many people are wanting to come to NZ?

Naturally before you become a member of HomeLink you will want to know how likely you are to achieve your desired exchange. We are pleased to report that the demand for exchanges in NZ is over 3-1 in our favour.
Please note that traditionally the months prior to Christmas are times when new members are joining and numbers are slightly lower.

Remember that when people come to NZ they are often making a long journey and typically will want 2 or perhaps 3 exchanges when they are here
What about my home insurance?

In general, most home insurance policies covers home exchangers. After all, they're your guests, and it's really no different from having friends or relations stay in your home whilst you're away on holiday. Remember that an occupied house is far safer than an empty house
Do I have to live in a tourist destination?

No, of course not. Members live throughout the countries listed. In big cities, rural areas, mountains, and, yes, resort areas too. People are using your house as a base while they visit local attractions
Are the homes modest or expensive?

The range of homes is large. Our members tend to be professionals and the type of home is what you would expect from this group. You can get a good idea of the types of homes available by looking through our on-line database
What about car insurance?

Most people don't experience difficulty with car insurance but it is best to check with your insurer first.  It seems that most NZ insurance companies have recently imposed an extra excess on all overseas drivers.
It pays to read the small print in your insurance policy carefully.  Remember to fill in your car exchange form with every exchange it gives each party in the exchange a clear understanding of the situation.
How do I list a 2nd home?

If you want to list your second home fully then you will need to use the registration form to describe all its details.  This will cost an extra $60. You may decide to mention it briefly in you Home Description on the Web Site at no extra cost.  Simply say eg. 2nd home available
How much are the membership fees?

You will find full details of membership fees under 'Options & Fees' on the menu on this page.
Your membership will enable you to be part of the most diverse Database of exchange homes in the World with assistance from your experienced local organiser whenever necessary.  We are only a phone call away
