DEADLINE TO BE LISTED IN BOOK 2010

Just a gentle reminder for those of you whose membership is due for renewal in October, or previous members who would like to be in the next edition of the HomeLink Directory.  20th October is the date !!!

Give Valerie or John  a call on (09) 263 9677, or you can renew online by clicking the link at the top

MEMBERS SINCE

If you have had a look at your listing recently you will have noticed an additional item showing when you first joined HomeLink.  Many of you have been with us for such a long time and I thought it would be nice to make a feature of this to emphasise your confidence in the quality of HomeLink as a great way to holiday.

I have done the best I can according to our records but those of you who were members prior to our take over in 2000 may like to check to see if the facts are correct

INNOVATIVE PHOTO

Photos are an important part of your listing.  If you look at the new 'View listings' on the members page, I think you will agree that the photo gives impact to the listing.  If you don't have a photo in place then you are often bypassed.  As you can now have 20 photos, the first one does not necessarily have to be of your house, or your houses interior.  I would like to congratulate a new member who has a photo of a Dolphin by way of advertising the  attractions in his area.  Really stands out.  Well done !

MEETING HALFWAY

I know a lot of us have friends or relations living in the UK.  If you feel daunted by the long journey,  have you thought about meeting them halfway?  Both parties could meet at a home exchange in Canada, Hawaii or somewhere in the US for an exchange.  We have so many members in these places who are eager to come to New Zealand that this would  work particularly well and gives both parties a great holiday together.

3 IMPORTANT ITEMS

1. NSX

We have noticed a few members who are advertising 'Home exchange' only when we know they have more than one property and surely could exchange non simultaneously.  Some people in Europe are only looking for NSX when coming South just as John & I only look for NSX when going North.  If you can add this to your listing it would be adviseable.  Don't forget that you can fully advertise your other property for just $60 if you have not already done so.

NB. It is very important that you do not remove 'X' from your listing otherwise you will not be found by the search engine.

2. View Listings
On the Members page you will see a new link to our current listings.  I rather like this as a quick overview of what is available.  See what you think?

3.  Vodafone problems
Last week was a nightmare.  For a whole week access to our secure pages for payment were shut down owing to a fault with Vodafone.  Not just us, about 300 other businesses as well.  Not a good look Vodafone !!  We sincerely apologise to any of you who were try to make contact during that time.  I know it reflects on us, we try so hard to please and this was something totally beyond our control.

EXCHANGE IN ITALY
An Italian Member of HomeLink who has a home 30km from Rome and comes to NZ every year is planning for 2010/2011.  He specifically wants to be in Hawkes Bay, Gisborne or Blenheim so if you live in any of these areas here is a great opportunity for you.

Please contact  IT27667A  John & Glenda Watkins
